Melvin, Raymond and Benny
Melvin Styron lost the battle for retention and use of his camp. Raymond( Benny )were likely brothers or relatives (not confirmed)
Melvin and Georgia Styron made claim by affidavit that they had obtained the camp in or about the year 1956.

Documents from NPS files show that the Styron claim of adverse possession failed–the standard held to be 30 years–though he presented a claim to slightly over 6 acres with some evidence. Selected document excerpts follow (to demonstrate an example of one legal dispute over Banks property.

NPS Structure Staus Report 12/80 indicates the camp was “moved 12/8/78”–

The Styron’s of Cedar Island were identified on this photo as owners of the camp. There are two camps pictured suggesting that each had a camp.
The camps were on James Lassiter/Hanes Lassiter property. Lassiter purchased the Pilentery Club and other lands in the late 20s.
