Joe Fulcher remembers Daryl (Darrell) Willis building a small simple camp near the Sammy Mason camp in the Wib’s community on South Core Banks.

Joe remembers it as small, square and simple. He was unable to give more information on Daryl Willis.

The camp can be seen behind the Sammy Mason camp in a photo of the Mason camp.

NPS document indicates NPS burned this camp 03/09/78


DARYL (Darrell?) WILLIS–(as remembered by Clay Fulcher)-

of Harkers island-

built in years after Frank Nelson built his camp and was further up the road past Frank’s camp and more toward the beach

 a commercial fisherman

a neat , small camp of small frame and hip roof

didn’t have it very long

hunting was his main thing

Jamie Lewis , of HI and James Lewis’s father–hunted there with Daryl
